Desperate Housecats
March 11th, 2009
Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) announces its 2nd Annual Desperate Housecats event. Often cats aren’t as “adoptable” as kittens and many shelters have more cats than they can handle. In an effort to place more cats, NAHS created the event last year and increased cat adoptions over 73%!
If you are looking for an adult cat to share your life, now is a great time. From March 15 through April 15, adult cats are only $75–that’s a 40% discount! NAHS has cats in all sizes, colors, and ages. The cats are up to date on vaccinations, including rabies, and are spayed or neutered, microchipped and FIV and FeLV negative.
Check out their website for information and photos of adoptable pets.
Dog Art Challenge
February 28th, 2009
Burt created a surprise masterpiece for the Dog Art Challenge tonight and boy is he pooped! Being artistic really takes it out of a guy but it is worth it to know that other pets will benefit from all that hard work. (If you don’t know about the Challenge, please read this thread or click the above link.) We urge everyone to support their favorite shelter by creating art (100% of the proceeds from the sale of the piece will go to the pet charity you pick). What are you waiting for? Give your dog (or cat) a big kiss, turn them loose with paint and watch the fun!
Not feeling artistic? Browse the Dog Art Boutique where a portion of the purchase price also goes to charity.
FYI: The auction catalog will be posted shortly.

Please purchase Pet Alert stickers or download them from The Chicago Pets Directory. Remember to place one at each entrance to your home and even on windows, if appropriate.
