Thanks for commenting! It's always good to check your pet for ticks after being in the woods--even if you use a flea/tick preventative. The faster you remove the tick, generally the better. If you can, a quick bath makes it easier to spot ticks. . .and makes Fido smell better too :)

I emailed Will County Forest Preserve in the hopes that they may alter their daily fee options to be more accommodating. I'll keep you posted.

I would have to agree with andrea f and leena! Especially with the fact that you are asked to pick a specific date for a "one-day pass"! I think that is a terrible idea, as it is very hard to predict the weather (especially now, during the fall) I ordered a one day pass for my dog over two weeks ago and still didn't get it, our preferred date was a 2 days ago, therefore I lost my money!!! We will not be joining this park, and I urge others to do the same.

I'm sorry but I do not like this dog park at all (not the dog park itself), first for it's $50 for a non resident is a bit too much, comparing to other dog parks where the prices range $10-15 for cook county resident and up to $25 for non-resident! Second, I do not like the fact that when you order the "one day pass" which costs $3 you have to pick a specific date, how am I supposed to predict the weather??? what if it rains/snows on the day I pick? Very inconvenient!

As a busy dog, I don't hang out much at dog parks. Do other readers feel this is a fair price?

Is there a dog park you particularly like? If so, please tell us why. It would be helpful if you included the cost, too, so readers can compare.

Thanks, BURT
