We had several Halloween contests and riddles (posted earlier in this string). Did you know the names of the two dogs in the cheerleader outfits? They are the famous Sparkles & Spanner of Sparkles the Fire Safety Dog fame. You can find great things to help children learn fire safety as well as order the Sparkles book on their website/blog.

The best costume idea came from Samson, dressed as Superdog. Burt really liked that idea since he already thinks he IS Superdog! Samson & Sarah will receive $20 Burton Bucks for their winning suggestion.

No one submitted the correct answer to the riddle surrounding Burt’s old costume. The coat he was wearing had several shirt sleeves sewn to it. . .so he was wearing his “Coat of Arms.” So much for clever ideas. . .

Dress up the pups and head to Two Bostons, Naperville, for Halloween treats on Thursday, October 30(10AM – 6:30PM), then have some spooky fun on the final Ghost Tails Tour. (Reservations must be made in advance!) While you are there, get last minute costume ideas, solve Burton’s costume dilemma (posted earlier), and win $20 Burton Bucks!

Burton is still undecided about a costume for Halloween. He has asked for help from readers–either suggestions via comments to the blog OR photos emailed to him at burton@chicagopetsdir.com. The reader with the best suggestion will receive $20 Burton Bucks. Burt loved the costume he is modeling and wore it to “trick or treat” a few years ago. He was disappointed that no one guessed what he was wearing. Can you? The first person to guess correctly gets $5 Burton Bucks!
